The Coffee Oasis – Port Orchard

This is a snapshot from the KYP’s meeting with Megan from The Coffee Oasis. We’ll be releasing more info about their project and our involvement soon, but for now we’ve included the content below from their website that expresses their mission and plan for moving into the Port Orchard area.

1. Build a profitable coffee house business in order to help
provide sustainable business support of youth outreach programs,
job training for youth, jobs for youth, and economic blessing of the community.

2. Build an effective “continuum of services” for street and
homeless youth through school and street outreach, drop-in
centers, case manangement, and job training programs.

807 Bay St
Port Orchard, WA

Bottom Floor: The Coffee Oasis Café, serving our Bremerton-roasted direct trade coffee,
delicious fresh food, catering, and a place to gather for the community.

Upper Floor: An Oasis Center for homeless and street-oriented youth, a place where they can go
and be surrounded by people who will be friends wherever they are and whatever they are
going through. The space will also have showers and laundry facilities, and office space
for tutoring, case management, and job training classes.

Our lease begins May 1, 2013, with four months alotted for the remodel.
Our ambitious goal is to be operating by the end of July!

The Coffee Oasis is partnering with the Morning and Noon South Kitsap Rotaries to
fund, direct, and complete the project. The crucial needs to accomplish it in good
time are funds, equipment, and volunteers! Our hope is that by working together
with the community of Port Orchard, this will be place invested in and built by the community,
for the community. Please see “the needs” and “the work” links for how to get involved!
